Masonry BBQs > IMPORTANT NOTE

Information & Important Facts

With your barbecue, you may find a metal 'L' shaped part that will not be listed on th parts sheet. This part is designed to be placed at the front of the fireplace to catch any falling charcoal. This part is mandatory by law in France but not in the UK, so it is personal choice whether you incorporate it into your barbecue.

Your masonry BBQ will arrive in its natural grey colour and will require painting with the white artex paint provided. This does not apply to our stone range of BBQs which have the colour built in.

The following MUST be adhered to, otherwise cracks will appear, which can affect the stability of your barbecue:

- The BBQ must be erected on a hard level foundation to prevent movement.
- Whether using mortar or glue, we recommend only a very thin layer as the BBQ must be able to expand and contract with the temperature changes.
- The fire bricks MUST NOT be fixed with adhesive or mortar.
- After assembly, we recommend protecting your BBQ with a Cover or tarpaulin sheet during the winter months to protect against the frost and damp.
- Small hairline cracks can appear in the surface and joints of your BBQ during the season because of temperature changes but will have no affect on the performance of the BBQ
- When using your BBQ for the first time after rain or damp conditions, always light the fire slowly and gradually, so that possible water particles and humidity absorbed can be removed safely.
